Harvest Festival at Donaldson Farms

This weekend we hosted our first event

Harvest Festival at Donaldson Farms

At Donaldson Farms we celebrated a child's 5th birthday.

Hosting a kids party at a farm, especially in the fall, was tons of fun. There were corn maze trails, hay wagon rides, pumpkin picking, and a live folk music band to get us all up and dancing.

Welcome to the farm ...

Remember, it's all in the details.
Hosting any event on a budget can get overwhelming. Simply search around your home to find items you may be able to use for your next party. For our Harvest Festival theme, we searched through our local craft stores, Michael's & the Christmas Tree Shop. For this event we only spent $240 on the table decor, plate settings, AND the dessert which was all handmade - homemade.

Hope you've all enjoyed our first event.

We dare you to celebrate!

  1. These ideas are so cute and so appropriate for a kids birthday! Love the fall theme and even more impressive that it was on a budget. Will definitely be following this blog to get inspiration and to see what you are up to!

    1. I disagree with the "appropriate" part. I thought it could have added a bit more fun factor. Just my opinion after speaking to my niece. Food was well done, snacks were cute but still no WOW factor. If im paying you to plan a party for me, i wanna be blow away a bit. Thank you for the feedback though.

  2. I thought the design was ok, could have been better, but my niece didnt have a great time. The decor was mediocre at best and it seemed suited for children a little bit older. The budget was small, and the party was meh. Just meh. Wish i could say more. Unfortunately, i would not recommend these planners until they gained some more experiences and catered to their crowd a little more. And i have had my comments erased from here twice already, im starting to wonder if they actually want some constructive feedback or are they out to make $$$ without caring for their paying clientele. Might need to report this to BBB, im sure you arent serving food without the proper permits? Feedback should be appreciated, NOT discouraged ladies. If you have any questions or comments ladies, please email me directly. Thank you for your time.

  3. Wow - I am not sure who you are Angie, but I believe comments should be constructive, not obstructive. I think your words are simply negative and not helping these girls who are obviously following their passion and are starting out - everyone has to start from somewhere. You seem to have an opinion as if you own a business - I would love to see what you have to bring to the table and maybe I can offer you advice as well.

  4. Elliot-Im sorry if i somehow offended you with my feedback. Im confused as to what wasnt constructive about my statements. I was simply commenting on behalf of 2 ppl (one child) who attended the event and didnt feel comfortable doing it themselves. You seem angry that anyone would be honest in order to maybe let this company improve as they go along.
As far as my "business", I dont do arts & crafts or design, I am an Engineer for the State of NJ. You seem to just be rooting with pom-poms on for this website, which is fine, but please do NOT feel free to comment on other customers feedback, it makes the business look really unprofessional and frankly it makes you seem immature. Thank you for taking the time to police the comment section, im happy that you have this much time on your hands. Sorry that honest constructive feedback has prompted you to have so much rage. Enjoy your day.
